What is UTMB?
The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) is more than just a race; it's a grueling challenge that pushes runners to their limits. Held annually in the Alps, this ultramarathon covers a staggering 171 kilometers (106 miles) with an elevation gain of over 10,000 meters (32,940 feet).
The race winds through France, Italy, and Switzerland, following the scenic yet demanding Tour du Mont Blanc hiking path. Known as one of the toughest and most prestigious trail ultramarathons globally, UTMB attracts elite athletes and determined runners from around the world.

Val d'Aran by UTMB
This event, which takes place from July 3 to 7, 2024, is nestled in the breathtaking Pyrenees. It features seven mountain races, each offering its unique challenges and stunning scenery.
This isn't just any race; it's the UTMB World Series European Major, making it one of the few events that provide direct entry to the UTMB Mont-Blanc finals for the top finishers.
For the third consecutive year, Val d'Aran by UTMB will grant the top ten male and female runners in the VDA (Val d'Aran), CDH (Camins d'Hèr), and PDA (Peades d'Aigua) races direct access to the UTMB World Series Finals.
This means that around 225 runners will secure their spots in the coveted finals in Chamonix. Plus, all finishers earn double the Running Stones, significantly boosting their chances in the lottery for UTMB Mont-Blanc.

Much like sponsoring Cambridge United, our sponsorship goes beyond logos and banners. It's about embracing the spirit of endurance, resilience, and community that these races embody. At Cledara, we see a strong parallel between the determination needed to conquer a mountain trail and the grit required to start and run a business.
Our team members, including Freddie and Viktor, have firsthand experience of the challenges and triumphs of trail running. In 2022, they tackled the PDA race, a 55km trail with a 3,300m elevation gain.
Their journey was one of pushing physical and mental boundaries, much like what we strive to do at Cledara every day.
